Placename Commission

In order to avoid any mistranslation, any new development name being proofed or translated should be carried out by the Place Names Commission. This information should be then added to the aforementioned database, once it has been prepared. For more information please contact the Place Names Commission at logainmneacha@pobail.ie, www.pobail.ie, or www.logainm.ie

Irish Language Officer

To ensure that all new signage being produced is correct, it should be checked against the aforementioned database, when the schedule is being prepared. Once prepared, it should be checked by the Irish Officer in that particular local authority, immediately prior to going to production.
